About Oakobing

Oakobing is not a one-time transactional experience; it's a relationship. At Oakobing, we not only strive to deliver the highest quality Korean-style shaved ice, but we also provide a fun, customer-centric atmosphere that keeps our beloved customers coming back for more. Founded in 2016, Oakobing has quickly become one of Koreatown's most popular dessert cafes โ€” the ideal cool-down dessert spot for the Los Angeles heat.

With a wide array of delicious flavors and an unmistakably fluffy texture, Oakobing's unique style of Korean shaved ice was carefully and artfully crafted to serve as the ultimate dessert experience.

Located at 3300 W 6th St unit 2, Los Angeles, CA 90020, Oakobing operates as a dessert shop serving Los Angeles in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as ice cream shop, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

In Los Angeles, the best-known bakeries and bagel shops have lines on weekend mornings, so arrive early or order ahead where the shop offers it. Across California, immigrant bakeries add Mexican pan dulce, Vietnamese banh mi bread, Chinese buns, Middle Eastern sweets and European rye to the mix, and many gluten-free and vegan bakeries have opened in larger cities. Check the listing for hours, whether the shop accepts custom cake orders and its Google rating before you go, and call about allergens, since small kitchens often share equipment. Day-old bread and end-of-day discounts are common if you ask.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 1โ€“11 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Oakobing at (213) 387-1002; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is oakobing.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 1,273 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded dessert shops in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Los Angeles is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

To beat the heat with something truly delicious- OAKOBING is tyhe best. Their shaved ice desserts are wonderfully light, airy, and incredibly refreshing, offering a great balance of authentic flavors that aren't overly sweet. With an impressive variety of fruit-topped and classic Korean bingsu options, it is easily one of the best spots around for a crisp, thirst-quenching treat.

After countless trips to Los Angeles' Koreatown, I finally made it to Oakobing. Every previous visit ended the same wayโ€”I saw the long line, sighed, and walked away. This time, the wait was surprisingly short, and I finally got to see what all the buzz was about. The first thing that struck me wasn't the desserts, but the crowd. Even in the heart of K-Town, the cafรฉ was filled with people from every background enjoying Korean-style bingsoo. Seeing a traditional Korean dessert embraced by so many different cultures was both surprising and something I couldn't help but feel proud of. I'm a fan of classic patbingsu with sweet red beans, but my son prefers fruit flavors. Like many Gen Z dessert lovers, he isn't a fan of red beans and always reaches for fresh fruit instead. Although I wanted to sample several items, we had just finished dinner, so we settled on the Melon Bingsoo Combo and the Strawberry Bingsoo. The Melon Bingsoo is as impressive as it is delicious. Served inside a real hollowed-out melon and topped with incredibly soft, fluffy milk snow, it's refreshing without being overly sweet. Each bite delivers the natural sweetness of fresh melon and melts effortlessly in your

More Instagram Than Flavor The shaved ice is definitely photogenic, but the taste is just okay. We ordered two small bingsoo, the mango and the matcha strawberry. The mango and strawberry on top were both mouth-puckeringly sour, and the shaved ice itself had an artificial, flavored-syrup taste to it. The space also felt a little dirty. Cute for the photos, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

Iโ€™ve been coming here around ten years and didnโ€™t go for a little bit and suddenly had a craving for it. The last time I came was a few years ago and Iโ€™m pleasantly surprised to see that the quality has remained consistent, fruit is sweet, portions are still massive and shareable, and prices are still reasonable. $15.99 for a fruit stacked shaved ice that is easily shareable between 4 people is such a steal. The shaved ice is so soft and not too sweet. Glad I stopped back in again, such a nostalgic spot for me!

I ordered an Injeolmi bingsu & mango yesterday. The rice cake had green tea powder on it. I never ordered anything with green tea. At first, I suspected the food might have been reused, but since I canโ€™t verify that, I tried calling the store. No one answered. I donโ€™t need any explanation. I simply wonโ€™t be ordering again. It wasnโ€™t good anyway. Wishing your business continued success.
